Silhouette Soft®is a minimally invasive treatment, which redefines the facial contours and gives the face lift, volume and a smoother appearance. Silhouette Soft®has been known as the ‘one stitch facelift’ due to it’s tightening and lifting effect, especially in the jowl and cheeks area. This non-surgical alternative to a facelift is growing in popularity all over the world.
Silhouette Soft® gradually gives you a fresh, rested, natural look, with full facial movements, expression and progressive results. Everyone will respond differently but in most cases we have found the effect will last for up to 18 months. The procedure uses bio-absorbable threads placed under the skin to lift and help to restore facial contours. Unlike traditional, surgical facelifts, Silhouette Soft® doesn’t require incisions or multiple stitches; a hospital stay or general anaesthetic. Very little downtime is necessary. The lifting effect that the procedure provides will soften over time and it will stimulate collagen for a more prolonged smoothing and firming effect. This procedure is perfect for a sagging jawline and the regeneration of hollow cheeks particularly when used in conjunction with a good quality dermal filler.
SILHOUETTE SOFT® combines two effects: lifting and regenerating
The lifting effect is immediate and discreet as it is the result of compressing and elevating tissue at the time of adjusting the suture.
A gradual and natural regenerating effect: It is because SILHOUETTE SOFT® made from polylactic acid that is particularly biocompatible with human beings, and also completely biodegradable. Once the suture is applied, the polylactic acid acts on the deeper layers of the skin and helps increase the volume of saggy areas, restoring shapeliness to the face gradually and perfectly naturally.
Silhouette Soft® procedure
Silhouette Soft® is performed in the clinic under local anaesthetic and usually takes around an hour to complete. Poly-l-lactic acid threads are completely absorbable. No incision is required, as the suture is inserted using a fine needle. It is held in place with absorbable cones positioned in opposite directions (bidirectional).
Once the suture is inserted, the doctor will perform a slight compression and traction of the tissue to obtain the desired lifting effect. The non-inserted ends of the suture will be cut off. One or more sutures may be applied, depending on the patient and treated area.
Silhouette Soft® can be used as a single treatment or in combination with Dermal fillers and botulinum toxin (Botox). You will be fully advised at consultation by our expert practitioners.

One treatment, two actions:
- Instant results: The lifting effect is immediate as it is the result of compressing and elevating tissue at the time of adjusting the suture. After inserting the suture, the doctor applies slight pressure on the treated area. In this way, the doctor reshapes the surface of the skin and makes it visibly smoother.
- Collagen production: A gradual and natural regenerating effect: this takes place during the absorption of the component of the thread, which is poly-l-lactic acid. This in turn stimulates your own collagen cells which will help to restore lost volume. Once the suture is applied, the poly-l-lactic acid acts on the deeper layers of the skin and helps increase the volume in sagging areas, restoring shapeliness to the face gradually and naturally.
