With clinic in Tunbridge Wells (Kent) near London, we provide professional pigmentation removal treatments, delivering visible and long-lasting results.

Understanding the Causes of Pigmentation

Pigmentation disorders arise due to an overproduction or uneven distribution of melanin, the pigment responsible for skin colour. Common triggers include:

  • Sun Damage – UV rays stimulate melanin production, leading to hyperpigmentation and sunspots.
  • Hormonal Changes – Pregnancy, contraceptives, and menopause can cause skin pigmentation disease such as melasma.
  • Post-Inflammatory Hyperpigmentation (PIH) – Scars from acne, burns, or injuries can leave persistent dark marks.
  • Ageing & Genetics – Natural ageing and genetic predisposition can contribute to skin pigmentation treatment concerns.

For stubborn pigmentation, professional laser therapy for pigmentation is one of the most effective corrective methods.

Innovative Pigmentation Treatments at rtwskin

We offer a comprehensive range of treatments, including laser treatment for pigmentation, chemical peels, microneedling with Exosomes and prescription skin care products to target pigmentation at its source.

  1. Laser Treatment for Pigmentation

Advanced pigmentation laser removal techniques work by breaking down excess melanin, allowing the body to eliminate it naturally.

Our laser options include:

  • Q-Switch Laser – Targets deep dermal skin pigmentation treatment, effectively reducing melasma and stubborn dark patches.
  • The Alexandrite laser targets melanin using a 755 nm wavelength. It heats and breaks down pigment cells, allowing the body to naturally clear the pigment for a more even skin tone.
  • Fractional CO2 Laser – Resurfaces the skin, improving texture and addressing pigmentation irregularities.
  • IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) – A non-invasive superficial pigmentation removal treatment, ideal for treating sun damage, freckles and mild pigmentation.

Using laser to remove pigmentation, we can restore an even skin tone with precision and safety.

  1. Chemical Peels for Pigmentation

Chemical peels gently exfoliate the skin, removing pigmented cells and stimulating fresh skin regeneration. Our peels for pigmentation include:

  • BioRePeel is an advanced, non-invasive chemical peel designed to treat pigmentation, sun damage, and uneven skin tone. With a blend of TCA, salicylic acid, vitamins, and amino acids, it helps to reduce dark spots, stimulate collagen production, and improve skin texture, all with minimal downtime. Safe for all skin types, BioRePeel offers effective results for brightening and rejuvenating the skin, making it an ideal choice for those seeking a more even complexion.
  • VI Precision Plus Peel for Pigmentation Treatment at rtwskin. At rtwskin, we offer the VI Precision Plus Peel, an advanced chemical peel designed to target pigmentation concerns, including sunspots, melasma, post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation, and uneven skin tone. This medical-grade peel penetrates deep into the skin to exfoliate damaged layers, promote cellular turnover, and stimulate collagen production for a brighter, more even complexion.

The VI Precision Plus Peel contains a powerful blend of ingredients, including retinoic acid, TCA (trichloroacetic acid), phenol, and hydroquinone and kojic acid, which work together to lighten dark spots and improve skin clarity. Most patients notice visible results within 7–10 days, with continued improvement over time.

This treatment is suitable for all skin types and requires minimal downtime, making it an excellent option for those looking to achieve a more radiant, youthful appearance. For optimal results, a series of treatments may be recommended.

Chemical peels work synergistically with pigmentation laser removal to enhance skin tone correction.

  1. Microneedling with Exosomes for Pigmentation reduction.

Microneedling for pigmentation is a highly effective option for triggering collagen production and accelerating skin renewal, particularly useful for body pigmentation treatment and acne scars. Enhancing the treatment with exosomes adds a powerful boost, as these regenerative factors promote faster healing and improve overall skin texture and tone, leading to more noticeable and rapid results. Exosomes reduce pigmentation by enhancing skin regeneration and modulating melanin production, resulting in a more even skin tone.

Our clinic offers:

These treatments are suitable for all skin types and can be combined with other therapies for optimal results.

Maintaining Your Results: Essential Aftercare

To ensure long-lasting effects after laser treatment for pigmentation, following an appropriate aftercare regimen is essential:

  • Daily SPF Protection – Shielding your skin from UV exposure prevents future pigmentation issues.
  • Limit Sun Exposure – Avoid direct sunlight immediately after treatment.
  • Use Brightening Serums – Ingredients like Vitamin C, Hydroquinone, Kojic Acid and Retinoids help sustain pigmentation treatment by laser results.
  • Stay Hydrated – Proper hydration and a nutritious diet support skin healing and vitality.
  • Avoid Aggressive Skincare Products: Do not use aggressive skincare products such as fruit acids or retinol for at least two weeks. Be gentle with your skin to prevent irritation.
  • Be Gentle with Your Skin: Avoid picking or scratching any dry scabs that may form after the treatment. Let them fall off naturally.
  • Avoid Soaking in Water: Refrain from soaking in baths, hot tubs, or swimming pools until your skin has healed completely.

We will need to take a look at the pigmentation in order to tailor a treatment plan to your needs. Usually only one or two laser procedures will be required, however darker, deeper pigmentation may need more. Once treated the age spots will not return, but we do advise to use a sun cream in future! Prescription products may of course require more time for the lightening effect to give results.

Take a look at our price list and you’ll get an idea of the range. Don’t forget you can join our loyalty scheme and save money on regular treatments, so that’s a lovely bonus. Before the procedure is done, your doctor will apply a topical numbing cream to the eyelids and protect the eye area with an eye shield. Most people experience little discomfort during and after the procedure. At the most, you may feel a little tingling. While some redness and puffiness should be expected for a day or two afterward, you can apply makeup after the procedure to conceal it and we’d recommend a mineral-based make up that allows your skin to breathe. Just ask at reception. We recommend you use sun screen and hydrate your skin with moisturiser.
