Dermal Filler Treatment In Tunbridge Wells, Kent & East Sussex
Dermal fillers are one of the fastest growing areas of non-surgical cosmetic intervention in the UK. They are popular aesthetic facial treatments for wrinkles, facial lines and facial folds as well as replenishing lost volume in the face and hands.
What are dermal fillers for? Skillfully injected, by an experienced practitioner they enhance soft tissue volume and re-contour as well as fill and smooth depressed areas and lines, improving skin tone and texture.
What are the dermal fillers made of?
Generally they are made from a form of hyaluronic acid “HA”, a substance naturally found in the body; they are designed to be injected just under the skin to improve the appearance of volume, lines, and wrinkles. Around 90% of Dermal filler treatments in UK are with hyaluronic acid products.
Why do we use MaiLi®, Teosyal® and Juvéderm®?
The MaiLi®, Teosyal® and Juvéderm® products are all hyaluronic acid based and are a unique injectable gel, made using a manufacturing process that provides the highest concentration of cross-linked hyaluronic acid of any currently available, which in our opinion provides the safest, the longest lasting and most satisfying results.
As one of the largest providers in the South East, rtwskin had to make a huge choice when considering which dermal filler to use. We chose the best 3 on the market, because they are manufactured in a highly regulated and controlled environment with constant product sampling and testing.
Whatever your requirements are, full sensuous lips, volume replacement in depleted cheeks, or to fill lines and wrinkles in the face or hands, there is a dermal filler to suit. It is not one product fits all, matching product to procedure will be done with your experienced practitioner in front of a mirror so every detail can be discussed and agreed upon before and during treatment.
It is important to keep it natural and this is far too important a procedure to trust to a non-medical practitioner. Our injectors are all medically qualified with many years’ experience within the aesthetics field.
MaiLi® range:
MaiLi® is a new type of dermal filler, launched in the UK in 2021. It offers a portfolio of hyaluronic acid (HA) fillers – Precise, Define, Volume and Extreme. Each product provides its own benefits for rejuvenation using a variety of concentration and structure.
MaiLi® lifts, plumps, and smooths away the signs of ageing, as well shaping and sculpting specific areas of the face. MaiLi® is unique in its spring-like gel consistency, designed to move naturally with your own movement and expression. Results are promised to last 12 months, including lip enhancement.
MaiLi® Precise – lip enhancement for a ‘natural’ look, fine lines, medium size skin depressions, upper lip lines, fine lines around the eyes and marionette lines.
MaiLi® Define – nasolabial lines, lip volumisation, and marionette lines.
MaiLi® Volume – deep skin depressions and folds, facial cheeks, and chin enhancement.
MaiLi® Extreme – facial volume restoration and facial contouring.
How do MaiLi® dermal fillers work?
Natural volume in the facial tissues from our own production of Hyaluronic acid diminishes as we age. MaiLi® uses Hyaluronic acid within its dermal fillers range to replenish lost volume by combining it with water in your skin at varying depths, which also helps to refine features. MaiLi® offers a very natural-looking solution to the aging process, with dermal fillers that move with your own tissue, creating natural movement and expression.
Who manufactures MaiLi® dermal fillers?
Sinclair Pharma launched MaiLi® in April 2021 in Europe. Sinclair Pharma is a global aesthetic company with a portfolio of aesthetics technologies for innovative, natural-looking, and minimally invasive treatments.
Are MaiLi® fillers safe?
Yes. All MaiLi® fillers conform with the relevant European requirements for medical devices, and have a CE mark.
When will I see results with MaiLi® and how long will they last?
Results from most treatments are visible immediately, with final results revealed after a few days. MaiLi® fillers are promised to last a minimum of 12 months, including in areas we move a lot, such as the lips. This is a unique selling point of MaiLi® as rejuvenation results last longer. Each of the 4 products can be applied to most areas of the face, depending on the desired outcome. MaiLi® can be used for all areas of the face, from targeted rejuvenation of smile lines, to plumping or firming areas of lost volume such as cheekbones and lips, and re-sculpting facial areas with volume loss. MaiLi® dermal fillers can also correct the proportions of facial features, restore and remodel contours, or rebalance facial symmetry, as well as hydrate and smooth the under the eye area.

Most people plump for a cheeky cheek enhancement as this will lift the entire face, restoring a nice firm line to the jaw and giving an overall softer appearance. It’s a subtle thing which fits with our ‘whole face approach’ so don’t think about it as a noticeable or artificial implant. It’s nothing like that. We will take a good look at your face and give you our advice on how you can stay true to who you are and achieve a nice natural look. Sometimes, dermal filler can be used to soften ‘marionette’ lines, or to give your lips a boost. The best thing is to come in for a chat.
The area may be a little swollen and tender for 24 hours. Minimal redness or bruising can occur. None of these side effects are very serious and they will resolve in a matter of hours or a few days.
Avoid touching the treated area within 6 hours following treatment. After that, light makeup can be applied and the area can be gently washed with a gentle facial cleanser and water.
Until the initial swelling and redness has resolved, do not expose the treated area to intense heat (e.g. solarium and sunbathing) or extreme cold.
If you are using aspirin or any similar medication, be aware that these may increase the risk of bruising at the injection site.
Do not consume excessive alcohol for 24 hours.
Do not do any exercise for 24 hours after the procedure
Do not have any dental treatments for 2 weeks following your dermal filler treatment.
If you get any bruising do apply an ice pack and arnica cream. Mineral based makeup can be applied immediately after the procedure.
If you bruise easily, you may want to take arnica tablets for 1 day before the procedure and for 5 days afterwards.
If you are prone to cold sores around the mouth, our doctor will advise you to take Acyclovir tablets for a few days after the procedure.
An SPF must be applied to the skin daily to prevent further sun damage to the skin. We recommend using a medical sun protection product.
