Worried When the Next One Will Strike? Relax, You May Have Just Found the Merciful Solution
Not everyone suffers from them, but those who do will certainly know about it. Impaired vision, sensitivity to light or smell, nausea, neck pain, diarrhoea, sickness and extreme fatigue may all accompany an intense pulsating headache often concentrated on one area of the head.
Considered to be a neurovascular disorder, a migraine results from blood vessel enlargement combined with the sudden release of chemicals into the brain. These chemicals cause further inflammation and a ‘muddle’ of nerve signals; acute pain and sensitivity to external factors are the result. These episodes can be brought on by a number of things and you may already know your triggers, but the truth is that the exact cause of migraines is still unknown.
Stress, sleep deprivation, muscle tension, changes in hormones and environment can all contribute, and the affliction is thought to run in families. Some sufferers even get unpleasant warning signs before the migraine arrives, such as blind spots, flashing or rotating images, tunnel vision and vertigo.
So before we induce any more headaches, let’s look at the positives! Botox has been used for over twenty years worldwide in the treatment of medical conditions – it’s not just a vanity tool! Where migraines are concerned, it’s precribed as a preventative measure – we want to kick that neuro-nasty into touch before it can disrupt your life again. The injections work by relaxing the muscles around the head, neck and shoulders for a three to four month period, thereby reducing blood pressure within the head and blocking the nerves which send pain and trigger signals to the brain.
So if you’re a chronic migraine sufferer and oral medications haven’t relieved your pain or lessened its frequency, Botox may be the answer to your excrutiating question. Let’s commit your headaches to memory.
Barbie Botox
The “Barbie Botox” procedure, alternatively known as “Trap Tox,” involves the injection of botulinum toxins, into the trapezius muscles of the upper back and possibly occipital area.
