To rejuvenate means to make young again or restore youthfulness and vitality. If your skin is beginning to look and feel a little worse for wear, it is usually due to general ageing and effects of the sun and other environmental factors. Human skin is outstandingly clever when it comes to resisting the effects of sunburn, ageing and injury. This is what rejuvenating techniques such as micro-needling can address and improve.
Micro-needling with Dermapen is an effective form of combating scarrings such as acne scars or stretch marks; pigmentation and sun damage; as well as skin laxity, wrinkles and large pores.
The Dermapen is a revolutionary new method of Micro-Needling. The Dermapen is passed over the area to be treated, inserting tiny needles into the skin several hundred times per minute which creates minute puncture wounds. These tiny punctures trigger the body’s wound healing response and encourage the body to renew the skin cells in that area. This process increases the production of collagen and elastin, immediately plumping the area and diminishing wrinkles. As the body repairs the skin, you will also notice pigmentation, sun damage and scarring decreasing.
Because the Dermapen is fully adjustable, it is easier to treat the more delicate areas of the face such as around the nose and eyes, compared to more traditional micro-needling treatments. The treatment is also highly effective in minimizing pore size and can be combined with platelet-rich plasma (PRP) to stimulate collagen production and speed healing.
The typical areas treated with Dermapen are a full face for skin rejuvenation. However, most surgical scars including facelift scars, abdominal scars, breast surgery scars, orthopaedic scars and stretch marks can safely be treated this way.
The process of Dermapen micro-needling is one which can go on for as long as necessary, leaving at least four weeks in between each treatment. Initial results can be seen within ten days. However, we recommend a minimum of three treatments for optimum results. Collagen continues to grow and matures in the skin over a 90-day period following each treatment. Dermapen is safe to be performed on all skin colours and types, making it a perfect option for anyone suffering from aged or damaged skin.

It is common to experience temporary redness and swelling in the area which was treated, this will go down after a few hours but may take up to a few days at maximum.
One of Dermapen’s major benefits is its increased level of comfort, unlike more traditional micro-needling methods. We also apply Emla cream (a topical anesthetic) prior to your treatment so you shouldn’t feel any discomfort.
