This wonderful stimulating peel offers longer lasting benefits beyond the temporary superficial improvements seen with ordinary peels. There may be some downtime with this peel, just a few days of peeling at the most. If you have acne, sun damage, pigmentation, fine lines, and enlarged pores, then this treatment can be a solution for most of your skin problems. The 3-Step Stimulation Peel is suitable for any skin type and colour.  Dr. Obagi recommends pre-conditioning the skin prior to the application of the peel to improve skin health as well as accelerate post peel healing. “It is important not to peel skin that has not been prepared properly. If the skin is sensitive or dehydrated, it is not ready to be peeled,” he said.  He recommends using ZO Skin Health Radical Night Repair for 2-3 weeks prior to the 3-Step Stimulating peel. “The skin must be ready to tolerate the peel safely. Using Retinol or Retinoids consistently will help strengthen the skin to improve barrier function.”

The 3 Step Stimulator Peel has 3 different ingredients, and has 3 steps!

Step 1 of the system’s 3 steps is the peel itself, which is formulated to remove the outermost layer of the skin. Composed of salicylic acid (17%), trichloracetic acid (10%) and lactic acid (5%), the peel also contains saponins to minimize any inflammation and glycerin to increase hydration.

Step 2 is the application of the stimulating 6% Retinol Crème. Applied after the peel solution, the cream works to stimulate cellular function at a deeper level. The results include collagen enhancement encouraging firming of the skin and wrinkle reduction.

Step 3 refers to the application of the Calming Crème Post Procedure Skin Relief. This cream works to minimize any inflammation and irritation that may result from the first two steps.  It also helps to restore the moisture balance of the skin. You can take the cream home to apply twice daily following the in clinic treatment to speed the healing process. This peel can be repeated every 3 to 4 weeks if deeper skin repair is needed.

What should you expect after the peel? The Stimulating 6% Retinol Crème applied during this treatment is yellow, so your skin will yellowish in colour for 5 hours following the peel, you should also expect the following:

* Red skin

* Peeling skin

* Tight skin

* Itchy skin from time to time

These symptoms can be reduced by applying Calming Post Procedure Skin Relief Crème given to you with your aftercare kit.

The skin will be flaky for the next 3-5 days.  It can be disguised under mineral makeup if you wish.
