Mole Scanning
Mole Scan & Biopsy in Tunbridge Wells, Kent & Sussex
Don’t worry in vain
It’s a true adage that we should all appreciate our differences; and features unique to you like birthmarks, moles and freckles can be attractive flaws that we can learn to love. But if those little bundles of melanocytes are keeping you awake at night don’t wait, just pop into the rtwskin where we can offer you our painfree procedure designed to let us make quick and accurate assessment of the health of your moles.
If you’re concerned about a change in size, pigment or shape of a mole, if you have a large number of them or you spend time outdoors it’s a good idea to have them screened by experts regularly. One of the most common cancers among young people is Malignant Melanoma but if caught early on, the disease can often be successfully treated.
At rtwskin our skin experts recommend wearing SPF of at least 30 throughout the year, keeping a close eye on your moles at home as well as making an appointment for us to use our FDA-approved skin cancer screening device once yearly.
At rtwskin we use MoleMate, an innovative, non-invasive melanoma screening device to assess the health of any Mole that concerns you, or to conduct a full-body screening.
The handheld SIAscope allows our specially qualified practitioners to transfer the image to the computer screen and determine the nature and position of many of the different components of the skin by using the clinically proven Hunter Scoring System, developed in conjunction with GP practices and Cambridge University Teaching Hospital.
The scanning process should take no more than 20 minutes and we recommend a visit once a year. MoleMate allows us to compare results with those held from previous visits so that we can determine changes at an early stage.
Take a look at our price list and you’ll get an idea of the range. And don’t forget you can join our loyalty scheme and save money on regular treatments, so that’s a lovely bonus. If you want to talk to us first without any procedure, our consultation is absolutely free.
If your clinician decides that you should be referred, or a biopsy is required, this can be done immediately, and results returned to you as quickly as 48 hours. Happily, the vast majority of the moles we see are perfectly healthy and can be removed, at your request, by our highly qualified laser technicians once this is determined.
No, don’t worry, it’s painless and non-invasive. Any biopsies or mole removals that follow will be carried out by our trained medical professionals and any discomfort will be minimal. We make sure you’re in safe hands, and however small a procedure it may seem, we know it’s important to you.
