Profhilo® your profile – A new style of wrinkle injection.

By Emily Ruse, Front of House Manager

We once thought of ageing as a natural and inevitable process, but with the growing advances in the aesthetic industry, can we still say that’s true?

In case you haven’t noticed, the beauty world is rife with injectable “tweakments”. The aesthetic industry has advanced significantly over recent decades – we’re now able to skillfully and subtly administer safe, high-tech formulations of products such as dermal fillers, for natural yet remarkable results.

Our scientific knowledge continues to grow, resulting in new anti-ageing procedures which grow ever more extraordinary. One of the latest treatments to take the aesthetics industry by storm, Profhilo®, is receiving rave reviews from medical professionals and clients alike.

Profhilo® has been specially formulated to contain a unique level of Hyaluronic Acid, a naturally occurring substance found in our bodies that are responsible for maintaining moisture within our skin. It is the only product known to stimulate the growth of all four kinds of collagen and elastin, smoothing out wrinkles and visibly tightening the skin. Rather than just treating the wrinkles that already exist, Profhilo® encourages the growth of elastin to prevent the growth of new wrinkles – effectively remodelling the skin from the inside out.

Profhilo® sits in the middle ground somewhere between a dermal filler and Mesotherapy.

Profhilo® is injected in several separate points on the face, spreading evenly from these sites to restore lost volume, moisturise the skin and give an overall renewed look. The revolutionary formula contains a stable form of Hyaluronic acid without the addition of cross-linked chemicals that can cause negative reactions in that of a dermal filler. It’s highly comparable within the skin meaning that the risks are massively reduced. It provides more sculpture and shaping than hyaluronic injected via mesotherapy, so this is the obvious option for concerns related to ageing and loss of elasticity.

We begin to lose a significant amount of collagen, elastin and Hyaluronic Acid after we reach the age of 30, which means we start to see the signs of ageing in the form of fine lines, wrinkles and slightly lack-lustre skin. This progressive treatment is especially effective at treating those areas prone to laxity and sagging such as the cheeks, neck, chest and décolletage. More traditional dermal fillers aren’t suitable for these areas as the delicate skin makes it difficult to inject and to control the distribution, but these areas are particularly prone to ageing.

The beauty of Profhilo® is that it creates natural yet remarkable results. It creates volume in the skin tissue where it is able to disperse safely. As well as being effective in the treatment of wrinkles and ageing skin – it also restores radiance and hydrates the skin from the inside out.

The way we think about injectables is constantly changing. Injectables used to mean one of two things: Botox or Fillers. But our growing desire to remain looking refreshed and youthful means that these treatments are consistently developing to have all the longevity and effectiveness that a clinical procedure offers – and if being able to cherry-pick your results, getting the most effortless results and a longer-lasting finish won’t make you brave the needle, what will?
